The Quadrilateral Prism Net
This net has bases which are irregular quadrilaterals.

Here is our net for this piece. To find the surface area and volume, we will have to find the area of the irregular quadrilateral bases.

We cut the quads into two triangles, and measured all the dimesions needed to find their areas.

We decorated the nets before gluing.

Here's the finished prism.

  1. Fiction Section/Nonfiction Section (congruent trapezoidal prisms)
  2. Children's Library/Periodicals & Audio Visual Section (irregular quadrilateral prisms)
  3. Entrance and Internet Computer Section (trapezoidal prism with arc cut out of one base)
