"Suzanne"
is a word that is worth $1. So is the word "discipline,"
which is what a person needs to find more of these specially priced
words.
To find them, give each letter a cent
value:
a=1 cent, b=2 cents, c=
3 cents, and so on up to z=26 cents.
Then add up the value of each letter
in your word. Check to see that "discipline"
is indeed a $1 word.
Your mission for this lesson is to find
another one dollar word. (please write out the addition on paper)

- There is a Halloween
word that is worth $1.
- There is a Thanksgiving
word.
- There is an astrological
sign.
- There is a U.S. coin.
- There are at least
two U.S. cities - one is in Wisconsin, and the other is in both
Oregon and Maine.
- There is a beverage
that is illegal for kids to drink that is worth $1.
- There are several
animals at the zoo that are worth $1.
- There is an underwater
creature.
- There is a number
less than 100.
- There is something
you wear to keep your hands warm in the winter.
